Soundchip Pastiche Collection Vol. 1 was created to celebrate the Super Famicom's 30th birthday on November 21, 2020! It is a bit late, but we hope you enjoy it as a Christmas gift instead!

Every track on the album contains samples from a single game, listed next to the track's title in [brackets]. After some discussion, we decided not to strictly enforce the limitations of the Super Famicom's sound chip (the SPC700), and these tracks reflect varying amounts of hardware accuracy as well as different tools and different approaches to composition.

Contrary to our long-running Sample Pack Contests, there was no voting, secrecy, or any sort of competitive aspect to this album -- we simply wanted to make cool music! We will almost certainly do something like this again in the future, so if you would like to participate, feel free to join our Discord server: discord.gg/ykaDUSEsKB
